Virtual Instruction Begins Tuesday, March 24
As a reminder, Lindbergh teachers will begin virtual instruction on Tuesday, March 24, and will continue until school is scheduled to resume on Monday, April 6. Teachers will be emailing students and parents by the end of the day Monday to communicate their system of instruction. These provided lessons and activities will allow your student(s) to connect with teachers online, continue instruction, and support a sense of normalcy in their daily routine.
As we look ahead to next week, we understand that every family’s situation is unique. You may be adjusting to a new normal of working from home while also caring for your child’s needs. Your student may be in childcare while you work. Virtual instruction will not be perfect, but our goal is to make it as helpful and flexible as possible. As we share resources and ideas, please take them as helpful suggestions, and do not feel pressure if a particular suggestion does not work for your individual family. We are all doing the best we can.
To prepare for this transition, it helps to have a daily routine that provides structure for students. Consider the space where they will be working; quiet spaces with no additional distractions work best, as does having a system to ensure technology is charged and accessible.
In this challenging time, there is a valuable opportunity for your children to explore learning beyond the classroom as they expand their areas of interest. Make time for breaks, play, and creativity. Like other times when school is out of session, we know that kids can have significant learning experiences beyond the structure of school. It is our hope that your family is able to find those opportunities in the midst of this unprecedented situation. As your family adjusts to your new routines, here is a good resource to support you as parents:
Lindbergh Schools Family Helpline
Lindbergh Schools has established a helpline that will be monitored daily to respond to family needs. Please call 314-729-2448, or email covidhelp@lindberghschools.ws, and a member of our team will respond to you within 24 hours (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday). You can also visit our COVID-19 website for all district updates and information.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate this transition over the next several days. It won’t be perfect, and it will be a time of learning for all of us -- young and old. But throughout, we will remain dedicated to making decisions that are best for your kids.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tony Lake
