Books are Gifts that Keep on Giving
Staff in the Long Elementary School library came up with a novel idea for making a Christmas tree. They stacked up all green books to create this beautiful decoration, as a reminder to students that books are the gift that keep on giving!
Concord Holiday Music Festival
This photo slideshow shares a glimpse of the 2015 Concord Holiday Music Festival. The concert included performances from kindergarten, second grade and fourth grade, and was directed by Mrs. Valerie Creech. Watch the slideshow here.
A Bright Idea from Long Flyers Club
Tis the season to spread glitter and warmth! Long Elementary School Flyers Club has been taking old light bulbs and remaking them into ornaments that will never lose their sparkle. Students started by choosing from lightbulbs of all shapes and sizes. Then, they created colorful patterns with glitter to decorate their creations.
Kennerly First Graders Board the Polar Express
Kennerly first graders took a ride on the Polar Express this month! Students dressed in their PJs, drank hot chocolate, made crafts and visited with the train conductor, Dr. Morgan.
ECE Ducks Create Gingerbread Houses
Friends in the Duck Room at Lindbergh Early Childhood Education worked together to make a gingerbread house with a large cardboard box. The first day, they painted it brown. Then, they decorated the box with wrapping paper, candy, and stickers. A shaving cream and glue mixture made everything appear to be snow covered. This class project was a great way to wrap up all of the Duck classroom’s holiday activities, such as making gifts and singing songs.
Crestwood Winter Concert
Crestwood Elementary School students in third and fifth grade performed using unique harmonies, speaking parts and instruments, during the school’s annual Winter Concert. Students performed under the direction of Mrs. Erin Caughlan. This was her first concert ever at Lindbergh.
ECE Gators Share Winter Traditions
Students in the Gator classroom at Lindbergh Early Childhood Education have been sharing their holiday traditions with one another this month. Children had fun making their own garland, mixing hot chocolate, pretending to cook gingerbread men and tasting homemade tamales.
Kennerly, Crestwood Breakfasts With Santa
Students at Crestwood and Kennerly elementary schools share a similar tradition – pancakes and Santa! Crestwood’s PJs and Pancakes event, and Kennerly’s Breakfast With Santa, both drew large turnouts of families and students who were eager to share their wish lists with Santa.
