Lindbergh Academic All-Stars Shine Bright
December 4, 2015
Lindbergh Schools honored more than 1,500 students in grades 4-8 for their outstanding academic achievement during three evenings of Academic All-Stars celebrations in November and December.
Elementary and middle school students who scored at the proficient or advanced level in all subject areas of the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests were recognized as Academic All-Stars. Students were treated to a Star Wars themed performance by the Lindbergh High School Drumline, and received a T-shirt and prize package filled with goodies from several community businesses.
“It is an honor to be able to reward students for their hard work and dedication,” said Superintendent Dr. Jim Simpson. “Our MAP scores rank among the best in the state, and we are extremely proud of all of our students.”
Dr. Simpson also recognized Lindbergh teachers, administrators and the Board of Education for their commitment to academic excellence.
“All of these achievements would not be possible with the instruction, support and guidance that Lindbergh teachers and administrators provide every day,” Dr. Simpson said.
Academic All-Stars is funded by sponsorships from St. Anthony’s Medical Center, Dr. Kevin Coleman at Millennium Pain Management, International Food Products, Fortel’s Pizza in Affton and McBride & Son Homes. In addition, students received prizes from Culver’s, Crestwood Bowl, Wehrenberg Theatres, Chick-fil-A Sunset Plaza, City of Crestwood, City of Sunset Hills, Gateway Grizzlies and Mobil on the Run. Additional sponsors included Call Newspapers and S&S Screen Graphics.
