Blue Ribbon Celebrations Set for March 13

Several local and state officials will visit Concord and Long elementary schools in the Lindbergh district on Friday, March 13, to celebrate the two 2014 National Blue Ribbon School Award recipients.
Concord will host a student-led assembly at 9 a.m., complete with the Lindbergh High School cheerleaders and members of the marching band. Dignitaries will then travel to Long at 10 a.m., for student-led tours of the school and a reception. Media are welcome at both events.
Dignitaries scheduled to attend include Sen. Scott Sifton, Rep. Cloria Brown, Rep. Genise Montecillo, Rep. Mike Leara, Councilman Pat Dolan, Crestwood Mayor Gregg Roby and Crestwood Alderman Tim Trueblood. Representatives from Sen. Claire McCaskill, Sen. Roy Blunt and St. Louis County Executive Steve Stenger’s offices also are planning to attend.
Concord and Long are the fourth and fifth Lindbergh schools to earn the National Blue Ribbon School Award in the past four years. Previous recipients include Crestwood Elementary, Sappington Elementary and Lindbergh High School.
