Oct. 18, 2019
Dr. Vic Lenz, State Board of Education Vice President and former member of Lindbergh Schools Board of Education, is the recipient of the 2019 Paul Morris Community Service Award. FutureBuilders, the education foundation of the Missouri School Boards’ Association, presented him with this award on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the 2019 MSBA Annual Conference.
Lenz served the Lindbergh community for many years as a teacher, guidance counselor, principal and assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. He also served as a Lindbergh Schools Board of Education member for nine years before being appointed to the Missouri State Board of Education, where he has served for the past six years.
"Dr. Lenz is a dedicated community member who continues to serve the district’s students, staff and residents through multiple Lindbergh organizations," said Superintendent Dr. Tony Lake. "He is very deserving of this prestigious honor, and we are proud of his accomplishments."
This award recognizes individuals who provide leadership to their communities through school board service and other community service activities. The award honors the memory of Paul Morris, a school board member from Mt. Vernon, Mo. who was serving as President of MSBA when he passed away in 2009. Paul devoted countless hours strengthening his community and improving its schools through his volunteer work.
