Sharing COVID-19 Data With Our Community
Sept. 8, 2020
Dear Lindbergh Community,
Thank you for your support and encouragement as we welcome back students for the 2020-21 school year, both online and at school. I continue to be impressed by the caring, thoughtful measures I see our students, staff and families taking every day to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for all.
COVID-19 Dashboard
In an effort to be as transparent as possible and keep our community informed about COVID trends in our school district community, Lindbergh Schools is publishing weekly COVID-19 data on our website. This dashboard is designed to provide a weekly snapshot of COVID-19 statistics in our district. Data will be updated each Monday, and will include the following statistics for both students and staff: number of lab-confirmed positive tests and number of individuals under quarantine.
The Lindbergh Schools administrative team monitors St. Louis County data, including the number of new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 individuals, transmission rate and positivity rate, on a daily basis. In addition, we are consulting frequently with medical professionals and St. Louis County Department of Public Health leadership. We will continue to monitor local data and adjust our phases as often as necessary as we seek to make decisions in the best interest of our students, staff and community.
Our COVID-19 Response
Lindbergh’s three-phase Green Light Plan is designed to reduce in-person interactions and support social distancing to the best of our ability. While these precautions will not necessarily eliminate COVID-19 from our learning environments, they will help us mitigate risk while allowing students to return to school.
If a student or staff member in a school building tests positive for COVID-19, Lindbergh Schools administration will work with medical professionals and the St. Louis County Department of Public Health to begin the contact tracing process and communicate directly with anyone who had direct contact with the individual who tested positive.
Creating a safe, healthy environment for Lindbergh students and staff has truly been a community effort, made possible by our outstanding teachers, dedicated support staff, enthusiastic students, and engaged parents and guardians. Thank you for your continued support and engagement during this time.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tony Lake
Superintendent of Schools
