Electronics Recycling Drive Set for May 2

The Sperreng Middle School Environmental Club invites Lindbergh residents to dispose of “anything that runs on batteries or plugs into a wall” at its sixth annual Electronics Recycling Drive, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, May 2. Sperreng is located at 12111 Tesson Ferry Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63128, and the event will go on, rain or shine.
Most items (working or not) can be disposed of free of charge, including computers, monitors and kitchen appliances. A small fee is required for recycling televisions. ($20 for screens up to 27 inches, $40 for screens 28 inches or larger)
Items that will be accepted include:
Smoke detectors, glass lamps, light bulbs and fluorescent tubes will not be accepted.
The drive is being hosted in conjunction with Midwest Recycling Center, a Level 4 certified recycler. Level 4 certification means Midwest Recycling Center is registered with the Environmental Protection Agency, conducts secure hard drive and data destruction services, and holds certificates of proper recycling.

- Cell phones
- Pagers
- Radios
- Scanners
- VCRs and DVD players
- Fax machines
- Answering machines

- Stereos and speakers
- Furnaces, water heaters and air conditioners
- Microwaves and kitchen appliances
- Power tools, lawn and garden equipment (oil and gas must be removed)
