Truman English Students Create Radio Broadcasts
October 21, 2014
Truman Middle School students wrapped up their suspense unit in eighth-grade English by writing and recording their very own radio broadcasts. Students worked together to produce radio suspense plays, complete with accompanying commercials and breaking news stories.
The recordings paid homage to classic radio broadcasts such as War of the Worlds, The Lottery and Sorry, Wrong Number.
Each group worked collaboratively in Google Docs to draft scripts, and then recorded the audio files using digital classroom tools.
The finished products have been posted to the Truman Eighth-Grade English website. Recordings will also be used as work examples for upcoming parent-teacher conferences.
