• Accessing information is the most frequent activity we find ourselves performing during the course of the day.  It is no different for those who work at a job or for those who work at school.  Here at Lindbergh we have recognized the evolution of information access and over the last 8 years we have methodically worked towards providing our students and staff with reliable and ubiquitus access to that information.  Our efforts began with making WiFi available throughout all schools for use with district owned equipment.  We continued with making a transition from teacher desktops to laptops and tablets.  We also determined that the use of laptops in the classroom instead of desktops was preferable, making the classroom technology more flexible and cost efficient.

The trend we follow is the same trend we see in the consumer market today.  Our students and parents live in a reality that includes technology for information access and communication without many boundaries.  Personal choice of equipment and the abundance of choices make it almost impossible to force anyone to comply with a single platform.  Schools are a resource and a source of information.  As such, we are treating our services as a target and do not see the actual equipment as a school managed component.  Lindbergh Schools is focusing in the access to information and in the management of that access and not in the provisioning of equipment or the management of that equipment.

Lindbergh Schools is embracing the proliferation of personal Internet devices such as laptops, tablets, smartphones, etc. and leveraging their capabilities by providing access to district resources on the Internet and on cloud systems.  Many essential software applications are already on the cloud, and many more commercial software systems will continue that trend.  Our goal is to provide our students with an environment that resembles their future work-force, college, and University experience.
