Food Service

  • Lindbergh Schools, in partnership with Southwest Foodservice Excellence, has created this plan to provide students (in-person and virtual learning) with a nutritious breakfast and lunch, and ensure that all safety guidelines are followed to keep students, staff and food service members healthy.

Three Phases

  • Phase 1

    • Provide “Grab and Go” breakfast and lunch options for all Lindbergh students and staff attending school in person.
      • Meal cost will be based on student eligibility in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.
    • Students participating in ARC virtual learning must sign up to participate in “Grab and Go” breakfast and lunch.
      • Meals will be served on Monday-Friday each week.
      • Pick-up options will be available.
      • Families must sign up for this service, and meal cost will be based on student eligibility in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.

    Phase 2

    • Provide “Grab and Go” breakfast and lunch for Lindbergh students and staff attending school in person.
      • Meal cost will be based on student eligibility in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.

        • Crestwood Elementary School
        • Dressel Elementary School
      • Meal pickup times: 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Monday-Friday

Meal Procedures

  • Elementary School

    • Students will pick up “Grab and Go” breakfast before school and eat in a designated area.
    • Students will be served lunch with their class in the cafeteria, and return to the classroom to eat.
    • Families can order meals up to five days in advance using the Nutrislice App (available through the Lindbergh Schools app).
    • Water fountain bubbler features will not be operational, but water bottle filling stations are available in each building and will be sanitized daily.
    • Ala carte items will be available to purchase if a student has funds in a meal account. Per policy, ala carte items can not be purchased with a zero balance.

    Middle and High School

    • Students will be served breakfast and lunch in multiple locations and eat in designated areas that provide enough space for social distancing.
    • Lindbergh High School will use food kiosks and food trucks (weather permitting) to provide more locations where students can safely be served meals.
    • Ala carte items are available to purchase if a student has funds in a meal account. Per policy, ala carte items can not be purchased with a zero balance.

Safety Precautions

  • Food Service Areas

    • Protective face coverings are required for all lunch service providers and students during breakfast and lunch service.
    • Acrylic shields will be installed at cashier stations
    • Lunch service providers will practice frequent handwashing and wear gloves throughout the preparation, distribution, and clean up of all meals.
    • Food service employees will complete temperature checks and health screening questions prior to the start of each employee work schedule.
    • Hand sanitizer will be available for use in cafeteria and eating areas.

    Classrooms

    • Classroom sanitation will take place every evening by custodial staff
    • Students will use safe, district-approved cleaning wipes to sanitize classroom eating areas with teacher supervision (once each morning).
    • Custodial staff collects lunch trash from each room, and provides support as needed for lunchtime cleanup in classrooms.
