LHS Athletics

  • Lindbergh High School Athletics has developed the following guidelines for the resocialization of sports and activities with regard to practices and competitions, keeping in mind the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches and staff, families and spectators.

Phase 1

  • Gatherings

    • No more than 10 people (including coaches) at a time (indoors and outdoors)

    Physical Activity

    • Individual drills (socially distanced)
    • No sharing of athletic equipment (including balls)
    • All athletic equipment cleaned before the next individual uses equipment.
    • Resistance training should be emphasized (body weight, sub-max lifts, resistance bands).

Phase 2

  • Gatherings

    • No more than 10 people (including coaches) at a time indoors in designated spaces.
    • No more than 50 people (including coaches) at a time outdoors.

    Physical Activity

    • Modified practices for High risk sports (minimal protective equipment i.e. Helmets for football).
    • All athletic equipment cleaned intermittently during practices and contests
    • Practices still in pods of 5-10 athletes, should be the same for all workouts
    • Spotting allowed in weight room at ends of bar

Phase 3

  • Gatherings

    • No more than 50 people (including coaches) indoors and outdoors

    Physical Activity

    • Moderate risk sports practices and competitions can begin
    • Team practices with full equipment and contact drills are allowed. (Football should be sure to acclimatize with half shells first and then full equipment during this phase, as recommended by Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA).
    • Team drills can occur where players are less than 6 feet apart, but minimized to brief one-on-one drills. (most of practice should utilize social distancing)
    • All athletic equipment cleaned before next practice session
    • Spotting allowed in weight room at ends of bar

Phase 4

  • Gatherings

    • Fall practices may resume

    Physical Activity

    • All practices and competitions are permitted
    • Social distancing should still be practiced at this time for spectators (Rec. no spectators)
    • All Athletic Equipment should be cleaned prior to the next practice session or competition
