Transportation Waiver

  • Lindbergh Schools has been closely examining bus ridership and capacity to create the most efficient routes to serve our students. Did you know that each Lindbergh Schools bus costs approximately $65,000 to operate for an entire school year? In addition, almost half of all Lindbergh students who are assigned to a route do not actually ride the bus.

By identifying students who use alternate transportation, we can reduce the number of buses we need and maximize ridership in a manner that is safe and comfortable for students. This will directly benefit students by creating significant savings that can go toward classroom instruction.

To date, the district has identified more than $300,000 in savings by identifying efficiencies in other departments. Thank you for your cooperation as we improve our transportation processes and reallocate additional dollars that can directly benefit student learning.

    What you need to know:

    • Families who know their student will not ride a bus during the 2019-20 school year should fill out a student transportation waiver as part of this year’s back-to-school online enrollment packet.

    • We understand that unforeseen circumstances and/or emergencies may arise. Bus passes will be available for one-time ridership, and no student will ever be refused permission to ride.

    • Families may resume bus transportation for a student at any time by contacting the student’s school office.
