Newsweek Names LHS a Top US High School
September 17, 2014
Newsweek’s recognition comes on the heels of LHS achieving a No. 1 ranking for overall achievement among traditional K-12 public high schools in Missouri. The school’s combined math and English language arts scores ranked higher than any other school in the state, and ELA proficiency was second highest overall.
“It is a great time to be a Flyer,” said LHS Principal Andy Croley. “Lindbergh High School has a long tradition of excellence. These accolades reflect the hard work and dedication of teachers throughout our district, from preschool to high school. When that is combined with strong families, administrators committed to ongoing professional development, and outstanding students, it is a winning equation.”
Newsweek’s “America’s Top High Schools 2014” list ranks schools that do the best job of preparing students for college, based on state test scores, enrollment rate, graduation rate, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate test scores, and composite SAT/ACT scores.
LHS has also been named a top high school by The Daily Beast, The Washington Post, and U.S. News and World Report.
