Race Supports Beloved Teacher Battling Cancer
October 28, 2016
More than 200 members of the Crestwood Elementary School community came together on Saturday, Oct. 22, to support one of their own. Teachers, staff, students and parents laced up their running shoes and hit the pavement for the “Beth’s Battle 5K/Fun Run,” supporting fifth-grade teacher Beth Kennedy, who was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer.
Kennedy, who is currently undergoing treatment, attended the event. She says she is grateful for the support of her Crestwood Elementary family.
“I am in awe of the generosity and support I've received since my cancer diagnosis,” she said. “The Crestwood community has rallied around me to show I am not alone in this fight. I am truly blessed to have such wonderful people behind me and to be a part of an amazing Crestwood family. There simply aren't enough words to show my gratitude.”
