Happy Halloween from Lindbergh Schools
October 31, 2014
Lindbergh’s youngest students celebrated Halloween and the arrival of fall with parades, pumpkins and some outdoor exercise. Check out the stories below and visit our district Facebook page for more photos.
From all of us at Lindbergh Schools, please have a safe and enjoyable Halloween!
Concord
Concord Elementary School students celebrated Halloween by weaving their way through the school’s annual Pumpkin Run. Students walked to Sperreng Middle School with their classes and ran a one-mile course around the middle school fields, before returning to Concord for their Halloween parties in the afternoon.
Crestwood
Meredith Labadie’s kindergarten students at Crestwood Elementary School enjoyed their trip to the pumpkin patch! Students had fun taking a hayride, exploring the haunted house inflatable maze, playing on the Fort Spooky playground, and picking out pumpkins to take home.
Kennerly
Kennerly Elementary School students showed off their costumes in the community as they walked the annual parade route to Tesson Heights Senior Living center. Students walked through the back field and in a neighboring subdivision to visit their senior citizen neighbors. Each year, the Tesson Heights residents look forward to this Halloween tradition as their Kennerly friends come to visit.
Students in Nancy Doering’s second grade class at Kennerly wrote lab reports as they investigated how many seeds were inside the four classroom pumpkins. Their hypothesis was, “My pumpkin has ___ seeds.” Students made guesses before opening the lid, and worked in teams to count the seeds. Each team overcame obstacles, redirected the investigation and was successful!
Long
Students at Long Elementary School kicked off their Halloween celebration with a schoolwide costume parade outside in front of the school. Parents and siblings lined the curb as students strutted their stuff in a variety of costumes. Following the parade, students returned to their classrooms for more Halloween activities.
Sappington
At Sappington Elementary School, students participated in a variety of Halloween-themed physical education stations this week. From dancing in the dark (shadow dancing) to climbing the haunted house, teachers Mary Driemeyer and Chris Thomson knew how to make physical activity fun!
